DiGiorno Pizza is the latest brand who made a major error by adding their own marketing messaging onto a trending hashtag. Unfortunately, they didn’t research the hashtag beforehand and ending up looking like they were making light of the serious issue of domestic violence.
DiGiorno quickly realized their mistake and pulled the tweet, offered an apology and even personally apologized to individuals who were offended. However, this all could have been avoided with a quick click on the original hashtag and a little bit of research.
